James 1:9-18
Hearing + Doing = Obedience
As we approach the end of the first chapter of James' letter, we are provided with some clarity on what a Christian should look like. James says that believers not only desire to hear the word of God, they are obedient to it. Sitting under preaching; reading scripture at home; and attending small group bible studies; are all great assets to our faith. But, if no action is taken, if we are not doing something with the knowledge we have gained, if we are not obedient to God's word, our faith may not be genuine.
