In Acts 7, Stephen shows the people of Israel how they have missed seeing Jesus Christ as the point of everything in the Old Testament. The temple and the law were not about themselves, but they were to established to cause Israel to long for the better presence of God (temple) and the better righteousness of Christ (law). In the same way, people today can easily become distracted by tangible religious things and miss out on the God that they point to.
